Hey folks, I hope that you are all well. We have been blessed with great weather here this week, and we thank the Lord for it. Here’s another update for this week here at Downham Baptist Church.
Downham Baptist Church started back in 2014, and since then, we had no men occupying the office of Deacon but that has changed. Last Sunday, by God’s grace, we ordained our first Deacon, brother Jeff Bryan. What does this mean for Downham? It means we have the opportunity to better serve one another as we encourage Jeff to use the office of a Deacon well. We look forward to growing in grace as a body of believers.
The Snodes in America
On Tuesday afternoon, the Snodes took their flight to America. They’re gone for roughly 6 weeks, and we miss them already. We can’t wait to have them back and fellowship with them. Please pray for them, that the Lord would use them even as they’re away.
We have been going through the Book of Jonah, and we have been using it as a means of teaching some of the men in our church to preach the Word by giving them opportunities to preach through the book. We are encouraged that we have men who have the desire to preach, and we are privileged in being a part of the Lord’s work in teaching them. We’re doing the last chapter next Wednesday, and we invite you to come and support the men in their preaching, but ultimately, to worship the Lord as fellow believers.
On Saturday we have our Community Outreach at 11:15 AM. We also want to give a reminder that the Bible Institute Term has finished, and so we have no Saturday Morning Classes until further notice.
On Sunday we have our regular services: Small Groups at 10:30 AM, Morning Worship Service at 11:30 AM, and Evening Worship Service at 5:00 PM. We invite you to come along and join us so that we can worship the Lord Jesus together and fellowship with one another.

- Good Friday Service – 15th April
