God Will Prosper Us

“Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.” –¬†Nehemiah 2:20
About 450 years before the birth of Christ, the walls of Jerusalem were in complete disarray. They had been destroyed by the Babylonians. Seventy years later, a small group was allowed to return and rebuild the temple, but the walls still remained desolate.
God began to work in the heart of Nehemiah in a big way, giving him a burden, a vision, and a plan for what should and could be done regarding the walls. After months of praying and thinking about the situation, his burden was obvious. The king noticed it and allowed him to return with full authority to rebuild the walls.
But the task would not be easy. There would be those who would oppose every attempt they made to rebuild the walls. They would mock, undermine, and outright oppose him.
Nehemiah’s answer was always to turn to the Lord, to trust in Him, to pray, and to do what He could. And that should be our confidence as well. We know that with the Lord’s help we can do what is impossible for men, what our enemies may mock and despise, and what may feel incredibly difficult at the time.
So when you hear the mocking voice of Satan and the lies of this world, remember that if you are God’s child, then you have HIm on your side and He will prosper and help you.
