Weekly Update – 28/10/2022

Hey folks, I hope that you’re well. With the month almost over, here’s an update of what’s been going on at Downham Baptist Church.

Church Fellowship

Fellowship lunch before activities

On Saturday, Jeff organised a fellowship event after the Community Outreach. Due to weather causing the ground to be damp at the Park, we had the fellowship event at the Church Building. We enjoyed having lunch with one another, and taking part in some games and actives as well. We were also blessed by the opportunity to get to know one another better, and it was an encouragement to hear the testimonies of some of the young people in the church. Thank you to everyone who came along and took part, and thank you to Jeff for organising the event.

Pray for the Quinns at Colchester

Sam is now pastoring the Church plant in Colchester. Please pray for him and his family as they prepare to move, as they look for somewhere to rent, and please pray that the Lord would grant them mercy in causing them to be fruitful in the work they do there. They’ve not moved yet, which means we have the opportunity to still have them at Downham for our Midweek Bible Studies until they do move.

This Weekend

Saturday – We don’t have our Community Outreach but we will be preparing for our Autumn Festival. Those who have volunteered will be meeting at the Church Building at 2:00 PM to set up for the event and to spend some time in prayer. The Autumn Festival will begin at 4:00 PM and run until 7:00 PM.

Sunday – Join us for our Small Groups at 10:30 AM, which is followed by our Worship Service at 11:30 AM where Jonathan (one of the men in the church) will be preaching from one of the Psalms. Please pray for him as he ministers to us, and pray for us that we would be attentive to the Lord’s message through him.

That’s all for now for now. We love and appreciate all of you reading. Please continue to pray for us.

Ric
