Hey folks, thank you for taking the time to read another update from us at Downham Baptist Church. We thank the Lord for your continued prayers and support – we do covet the prayers of fellow saints. Here’s the update for this week.
We are thrilled to have witnessed one of the teens in the church go through the waters of baptism on Sunday morning. Bunmi has been growing in grace since her salvation, and it was a joy to see her decide to get baptised. As the candidate for baptism, she shared her testimony with the congregation, speaking not only of how the Lord has saved her, but how God is changing her, and using her especially in her evangelistic endeavours. We were blessed on Sunday morning to have had visitors come and witness the baptism service. We look forward to seeing Bunmi continue to grow in her love for the Lord Jesus, and we look forward to seeing how the Lord works in and through our church as we continue to occupy while He tarries.
Upcoming Autumn Festival
We want to be busy with trying to reach the Downham Community with the Gospel. To that end, we have planned a Community Event on the last Saturday of October (the details are on the image above). We invite you to join us for this event, and we encourage you to bring friends with you.
We are in need of help for this event in terms of volunteers and catering, and if you’re moved of the Lord to get involved, get in touch and find out how you can be of help to us. Please pray for us as we seek to reach the Downham with the Gospel.
Saturday – We have our Community Outreach, where we will be meeting at the Church Building for 11:15 AM. We have the invites for the Autumn Festival to hand out as well as the gospel tracts.
Sunday – Join us for our Small Groups at 10:30 AM, followed by our Worship Service at 11:30 AM where we will be continuing our series on 2 Samuel, after having postponed the series through September. After the Service, we have a Members’ Meeting.
That’s all for now. Please continue to pray for us as we labour in this part of the Lord’s harvest field.
