A Quiet August
Hey folks, I hope that you are all well. We have had a busy July, and August is a little quieter, for which we are thankful. The Lord has provided for us a time of rest for the Summer after having had a busy month full of activities. Here’s an update of this week:
Fellowship Groups
We had a great time with the Men’s Fellowship and the Women’s Fellowship on Wednesday night. For the Men’s Fellowship, Sam took us through a brief study on Abraham and his example of leading in godliness. The Women are going through The Calvary Road by Roy Hession, as well as spending time in sharing their devotion and in prayer with one another. We invite you to join us for our next Fellowship Groups next month – and we also invite you to join us for our Bible Study on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM.
Plans for Reaching the Downham Community
As mentioned in last week’s update, during the last School Term before the Summer Holidays, we ran a Homework Club but didn’t go as well as we had hoped. In light of that, we will not be starting Homework Club this coming School Term, however, we are planning on putting together a few social events in the near future with the hopes of engaging the local community with the Gospel. Please pray that we would be effective in reaching the area, and that we would have the wisdom to engage the world around us with the Gospel, not merely putting together social events.
This Weekend:
Saturday – We have our Community Outreach tomorrow. We will be meeting at the Church Building at 11:15 AM, and we will be putting leaflets/tracts through doors in the houses in the immediate area.
Sunday – We invite you to join us for our Small Groups at 10:30 AM, followed by our Worship Service at 11:30 AM.
Bring & Share Meal – Every month, we have our Church Bring & Share meal, where we all take part in bringing food and sharing it with each other in fellowship after the Worship Service. This coming Sunday, after the Service, we invite you to join us. Bring something that we can all share, and even if you have nothing to bring, we would love for you to join us anyway and share what we have.
