Weekly Update – 06/05/2022

Hey folks, I hope that you’re all doing well. Here’s another update of the things that’s been going on at DBC as well as some things that are coming up very soon:

The Snodes’ Return

After six weeks in America, the Snodes are back. We thank the Lord for providing travelling mercies and we are excited to fellowship with them for the remainder of their time here with us.

Homework Club

We had our second session of our new Homework Club on Wednesday and we were blessed to have the same children as last week come and take part. Please pray for this ministry as we reach out to families in the immediate area in Downham. If you would like to find out more or if you would like to help minister to the children and their families, please come and talk to us about it – we welcome fellow believers being equipped and taking part.

Midweek Bible Study

We’re continuing our study through the Book of Deuteronomy. On Wednesday night just gone, we went through the first half of Chapter 5, where Moses re-tells the 10 Commandments to a New Generation of Israelites in order to prepare them for when they enter into the Promised Land. Be sure to check it out on our YouTube channel if you missed it, and come along and join us for our Wednesday night meetings at 7:00 PM.

This Weekend:

On Saturday at 11:15 AM we have our Community Outreach where we will be trying to use up all our remaining Homework Club leaflets.

On Sunday at 10:30 AM, we have our Joint Small Groups – Travis will be teaching on Going/Sending people to the Mission Field. At 11:30 AM we have our Morning Service followed by our monthly observation of the LORD’s Table – if you are saved and walking in fellowship with Christ, we invite you to join us in the way the New Testament commands us to. Our Evening Service is at 5:00 PM.

Upcoming Events & Notices:

  • Prayer Week – 9th – 13th May (Monday-Friday). We want to be a people who not only know the Bible, but also a people who live out the Bible. One of the things that we are commanded to do is to pray together, and so we want to do exactly that. On the evenings of the 9th-13th of May, our church building will be open for an hour of prayer (7:00 PM – 8:00 PM). Please come along and pray with us, pray for us, pray with one another, and let’s worship the Lord as His praying people.
  • Missions Conference 2022 – Saturday 14th May – Sunday 15th May. We are excited to be able to have a Missions Conference – something we’ve not been able to do for a few years due to COVID. We want to be reminded of the importance of Biblical Missions, and we invite you to attend and bring others with you. We’ll post more specific details on next week’s update.
  • Bring & Share – Sunday 15th May. As part of our Missions Conference, we will also have our monthly Bring &b Share. I believe this will be a great opportunity for us to be able to fellowship and further discuss the things that we’ll be learning throughout the Missions Conference.

Please pray for my family and I as we are away for 2 weeks (24th May – 7th June). That’s all for now. We have a few things going, and we really appreciate your continued support in prayer. We love you all in the Lord.

Ric.
