Hey folks, how are you all? Here’s another update of the things going on here at Downham Baptist Church:
Easter Weekend
We have just passed the Easter Season. We held a Good Friday Service, we took a break from doing our Community Outreach on the Saturday, and then we had a long Easter Sunday Service which was followed by our monthly Bring & Share with an Easter egg hunt that was organised for the children. All in all, it was a busy weekend, but we don’t want to let the business distract us from remembering the Lord Jesus’ perfect and finished work upon the cross, and His victorious resurrection from the grave.
Thank you to everyone who helped in the various things we had going on on the build up to Easter as well as the Easter services and programmes themselves.
Men’s & Ladies’ Fellowship
On Wednesday night we interrupted out Bible Studies though the Book of Deuteronomy for our monthly Men’s & Ladies’ Fellowship. The Men have started looking at “Biblical Manhood” and the Ladies considered the life of Hannah.
This Weekend
On Saturday we have our Community Outreach at 11:15 AM. Our focus will be promoting the upcoming Homework Club – we have new leaflets to hand out to the immediate area. Come along and help out if you are able to.
On Sunday we have our Small Groups at 10:30 AM. For the next few weeks, we will be doing joint Small Groups classes in order to prepare us for out Missions Conference coming very soon (see the notices below). At 11:30 AM we have our Morning Service where we will be continuing our series on 2 Samuel; at 5:00 PM we have our Evening Service where we are going through Overviews of the Books of the Bible.

Homework Club – We are starting a Homework Club on Wednesday 27th April, at 5:30 PM. It will be on every Wednesday at that time (during term-times). Our goal is to communicate the gospel to children in the area, as well as their families, by providing a time where the children can do homework in a safe, social space, which will be followed by a Bible lesson and some crafts/activities. Please spread the word, and help us reach families in the are.
