Weekly Update – 10/12/2021

Hey folks, it’s a pleasure to be able to give you all another update. Here’s what’s happened in the past week:

On Sunday, we had the privilege of having Alan and Victoria Campbell with us. Alan was our guest speaker at Downham in the morning, and he travelled up to Colchester for the evening. Alan shared what the Lord has laid upon his heart from 1 Peter, reminding us of our identity in Christ and what our response to that beautiful ought to be. We were challenged, encouraged, and blessed with their time here and their ministry to us.

On Tuesday, Sam was up in Colchester. Travis is unwell at the moment and so he was unable to go up with Sam.

On Wednesday, we continued our study on the Book of Revelation. We covered Chapter 17 where we learned about the fall of Religious Babylon and were reminded of how the Lord Jesus is the victor in the end. Come and join us on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM as we continue the series.

Here’s what we have over this weekend:

On Saturday (tomorrow), we do not have our Community Outreach. However, we do have our Church Christmas Party from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM. We want to encourage and provide opportunities for believers to fellowship with one another outside of church services, and we believe that this Christmas party is a great way to do that. We invite you to join us, even if you’re only able to drop in for an hour or so.

On Sunday, we have our usual services. Our Small Groups at 10:30 AM, our Morning Worship Service at 11:30 AM, and our Evening Worship Service at 5:00 PM. We also have our Christmas Bring & Share after the Morning Worship Service.

And because it’s December, we are busy with preparations for Christmas. Here are some things that we want to invite you to over this month:

  • December 18th – Youth Christmas Party (1:00 PM – 3:00 PM)
  • December 19th – Evening Carol Service (5:00 PM)
  • December 25th – Christmas Day Service
  • December 26th – Boxing Day Service

The Bible teaches us to bear each others’ burdens and to pray for one another. In light of that, please pray for our fellowship. We have had a lot of unwell – please pray that the Lord would raise them to health and strength.

That’s it for now, have an awesome and blessed day.

Ric.
