Hey folks, I hope that you are all well in the Lord. Thank you so much for holding us up in prayer – Katharina and the girls are back, I met them at London King’s Cross yesterday. It’s great to be back together, and it’s an amazing feeling to be back in Bromley, ready to minister again as a family to our Church Family at Downham. With that personal update out of the way, here’s an update on what’s been going on at Downham Baptist Church:
Last weekend, we had a very packed but a great Sunday. We had our usual Worship Services, but we also celebrated the Lord’s Supper together, then we had a Membership Class afterwards. If you missed the Membership Class and are interested in finding out more, don’t worry, we can arrange another one, just let us know. We also started a new series on Paul’s Letter to Titus – join us as we continue this coming Sunday morning.
On Wednesday evening, we didn’t have our usual Bible Study and Youth Meeting, however, we did have our Men’s and Ladies’ Fellowships – it’s something that we’re planning on doing more, our aim is to have one every month. We believe that it’s a great opportunity for us to be able to talk about some important aspects of Christian and Church life.
Here are some things coming up this weekend:
On Saturday (tomorrow), we have our Bible Institute at 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM, followed by our Community Outreach at 11:15 AM.
On Sunday, we have our usual meetings and services: our Small Groups at 10:30 AM, our Morning Worship Service at 11:30 AM, and our Evening Worship Service at 5:00 PM. This Sunday is the third Sunday of the month which means that we will be having our Bring & Share Lunch. Come along, bring some food to share, and experience fellowship with us – and even if you’re not able to bring anything along, we would still be thrilled to have you join us.
With the Christmas Season quickly approaching, here are a few things to note in your diaries:
- Dec 11th – Christmas Party
- Dec 12th – Bring & Share
- Dec 25th – Christmas Day Service
- Dec 26th – Boxing Day Service
To close this week’s update, we have a small notice to make. We have recently finished our series on “Spiritual Gifts” and we want to take the opportunity to be doers and not just hearers of the Word. This Sunday morning for our Small Groups, we will be thinking about how God has gifted us and how we can be of use in serving and helping one another to mature in our walk with the Lord.
